The title is actually a bit of a misnomer as the series includes images from Potsdam, the epicenter of Prussian glory outside of Berlin. It also repeats some from the "Berlin - Transitions" series that fit in either context.
I am interested in sculpture both in its own right and as a focal element of the landscape. Despite the devastation wrought on Berlin during WWII and the frugality of post-war reconstruction, there is an astonishing wealth of material out there, from Canova's elegant neoclassicism to the stiff earnestness of socialist realism to whimsical concoctions by backyard amateurs.
The photographs are from 2003-2004.
